Matthew Hardy is a versatile conductor based in London. His work involves directing a variety of groups professionally and in the community.

Matthew is Artistic Director of East London Music Group and Musical Director of three community ensembles. He grew up in Liverpool, trained as a trumpet player at the Guildhall School, and studied orchestral conducting at the Royal College of Music in London.

His work encompasses orchestral and choral conducting and he has also worked for many years with wind orchestras. He is particularly enthusiastic the commission and performance of new music.

In recent years he has worked extensively with student and amateur ensembles, especially in East London, helping them to grow and develop in their local communities.
